Speakerlerdeki güc ve yeterlilik konuları bazı arkadaşlar tarafından istenildigi için bu konuyu yazmak istedim.(işallah anlatabiliriz)

1.iyi bir fullrange speaker modelini ele alalım ve ondaki degerlerin ne olduklarına kısaca bakalım.Bu speaker sistemin 100 hz üzerindeki frekanslarını cevaplamak için yapılmıştır.(100hz-20khz).muhakak subbas ile en az 2 yollu olarak sürülmesi gerektir.

speakerlardan 1 metre uzaga konulan lineer bir mikrofon düzenegi ile yapılan ölcümde spekerin hangi frekansta ne kadar akustic gücü oldugu şemada görülmekte.bu ölçüm speakere 1 W gelecek şekilde yapılan duyarlılık ölcümüdür.bu sistemin ne kadar dogrusal ve gercek sesi yansıttıgını göstermekte.Bu ergiye bakınca speakerin duyarlılıgıda ortaya çıkmış
oluyor.bu örnek speaker yaklaşık olarak (1w/1m) 97 db olarak cevap verebilmekte.Bu deger ne kadar yüksek ve her noktada dogrusal olursa speaker o kadar iyidir demektir.Tabi dünyada bütün frekans ergisi tamamen düz olan bir speaker bulmak ve üretmek imkansızdır.Grafikte 70 hz altına inildiginde bu speakerin bu frekanslara cevap veremedigi görülüyor.60 hz lerin 1 W ta 90 db oldugunu görüyoruz.60 hz de basların yaklaşık 7 db geride oldugu gözlemleniyor.50 hz de ise 85 db yani 12 db geride olan baslar anlamına geliyor.(subbas frekansı 16-100 hz)(bazı üreticiler 16-120 hz kabul ederler)

Burada 300 W continuous demek sürekli 300 w RMS ile çalışma kabiliyetine sahip demektir.fkt anlık olarak 1200 W peak RMS wattlara cevap verebilmektedir.bu diger piyasadaki(creative,jazz,ve koda) aletlerin degerlerinin max degeri ile sakın ola kıyaslanmasın.bu degere bu speaker çıkabilmektedir.tabi gidipte 1200 w lık bir anfi ile beslenmelidir anlamı taşımamaktadır.böyle bir speaker 8 ohm a 400 w RMS yollayabilen bir anfi ile sürülmelidir.abartılmış rakam kullanan speakeri 400 w lık bir anfi ile sürerseniz 1 sn içinde yanacaktır.
Bu speakerde iki gücten bahsedilmiş.LF olarak speakerin mid-bas karakteristikli sürücüsüdür.HF ise Tiz karakteristikli sürücüsüdür.Bu speakeri 2 yollu olarak sürebilirsiniz.o kısma girmek istemiyorum.daha sonra soru gelirse yanıtlarım.bu speakerin toplam RMS gücü 300+60=360 W tır.

Bizim için önemli olan noktalardan digeri ise Sensivity.(yani duyarlılıgı).iyi speakerler 95-110 db arasında SPL lere sahiptir.85 db aşagısı düşük duyarlı oldugu anlamına gelir.örnek vermek gerekirse:

1 w ta bir speaker 88 db digeri ise 98 db ise bu bize aynı güc tüketen iki speakerin birinin akustic gücünün bize düşük oldugunu söyler.yani 88 db olan boşuna fazladan güc harcadıgı halde daha az ses vermektedir.
Size tavsiyem 90 db altındaki bir speakeri satın almayın.

Egerki bir insan bu speakerlerden E olana 300 w sürülürken ve 1 metre uzagındayken dinlemeye kalkarsa sagır olr.Fakat 85 db olana yani A speakerine 300 w sürülürken 1 metre yaklaşması onu rahatsız bile etmez.

A speakeri 15 Watt harcarken 105 db acustic güce sahip @1m(programlarla hesaplanmış gücler ve degerlerdir sallanmamıştır) , E speakeri ise 1 W güc ile aynı ses şiddetine sahip.yani karşısına geçip dinlediginizde ses gücü olarak fark bulamayacaksınız.fakat watt farkı ortada.

İşte her şey watt demek degil.133 db olan speakerin 100 w güçte önünde durmak cok zor iken 113 db olan speaker 100 w güçte hiç rahatsız etmeyecektir.

anlaşılacagı üzere 85 db (1w@m) lik hoparlor 300 w iken 105db (1w@m) 3 w lık bir hoparlor ile eşit ses gücüne sahip.en cok buna şaşıracaksınız.ve muhakkak hata arıycaksınız.ama bu böyle.bide şöyle yorum yapabilirsiniz ve yanılabilirsiniz.benim sistemimin wattı çok düşük ama çok ses veriyor.haklı olabilirsiniz.ama bu 105 db lik speker büyük ebatlıdır ve manyetik gücü yok yüksek mıknatısa sahiptir.boyutu en az 70-100 cm dir.sadece örnek olsun diye verilmiştir.Çok kaliteli bir hoparlor satın almak isterseniz 95-98 (1w@m) db lik hoparlor sizin için en iyisidir.tabi bunlar Watt ve SPL karşılaştırmasıdır.frekansın lineerligi hakkında ve hoparlorun kalitesi hakkında bilgi vermez.ancak yüksek max SPL degerlerine sahip speakerler iyi olanlardır.(max spl 125-130db iyi dir)

şu an sadece speaker ve watt degerlerini anlattım anlaşılmayan kısımları yanıtlamaya çalışayım.sonra aktif subbas ,anfi ,5.1 sistemlerine gecelim derim yoksa her şey corba olmasın.

85 db üzerine 25 db ekleyince 110 db ediyor sen nasıl topladın merak ediyorum.seni kırmak istemiyorum.kusura bakma ama ben
astronomi okudum.fizik ve matematigi çok iyi bilirim.
db hesapları gibi komik olacak bir hesaptada hata yapma olasılıgım cok azdır.

Bir piyanomuz olsun. Tuşların en solundakine parmağımızı belli bir basınçla vurduğumuzu düşünelim. Bu tuştan çıkan sesin frekansı 28 Hz olsun. Daha sonra en sağdaki tuşa yine parmağımızı aynı basınçta vuralım. Bu tuştan çıkan sesin frekansı da 4000Hz olsun. Bu yaptığımız uygulamada her iki tuşa bastığımızda çıkan sesler AYRI FREKANSLARDA olmasına rağmen desibel olarak VOLÜMLERİ AYNIDIR. Yani 28 Hz sesi de 4000 Hz sesi de aynı volümde (dB) işitiriz; veya başka bir deyişle 28 Hz ile 4000Hz frekanslarının volümleri arasında desibel olarak fark 0 db'dir. Bunu da kısaltırsak 28Hz-4000Hz (+/-) 0 dB. İşte buna FREKANS TEPKİSİ denir. Kulağımızla işittiğimiz canlı enstrüman sesi ideal olan sestir. Kaliteli bir speaker sesi bu ideal şekilde verebilmelidir. Fakat birçok speaker frekansları aynı ses şiddetinde veremez. Bazı frekansları normalden daha yüksek volümde bazılarını da normalden daha düşük volümde verir. Bu sapmanın ölçüsü de speaker'ın teknik özelliklerinde frekans tepkisi olarak belirtilir.

Buradanda şu sonuca ulaşıyoruz. Bir speaker'ın frekans tepkisi ne kadar küçük ise kalitesi o kadar büyüktür. Dracul'un dediği gibi "frekans tepkisi ne kadar yüksekse speaker o kadar iyidir" cümlesi YANLIŞ tır.

Dracul'un yazısında gördüğüm ve düzeltiğim hata bu idi. Ancak teknik olarak düzeyli bir tartışma olur umuduyla yazdığım bu yazıya karşılık adı geçen arkadaşın seviyesiz ve hakaret dolu cevabı üzerine en doğru kararın seviyesiz yazıya cevap vermemek olduğu kanaatine vardım. Ayrıca Draculanın yazısında belirttiğim hata dışında birçok hata daha olmasına rağmen bunlar hakkında da fikrimi yazmaktan vazgeçtim. Sn.Prof arkadaşın da gördüğü hatalar ve yaptığı uyarılar yerindedir. Ancak muhattap olan arkadaşın teknik bilgisi yetersiz olduğu için ne söylesek boş.

Frequency: The Identity of Sound
If you have ever sat on a beach and counted the incoming waves of an ocean or large lake, then you already understand ?frequency? and ?wavelength?. Frequency is simply the number of waves that arrive in a specified amount of time. The distance between the waves is the wavelength. Whether their wavelengths are long or short, sound waves all travel at about the same speed. So the frequency will be lower for long wavelengths and higher for short wavelengths. Incidentally, the speed of sound in air is 1130 feet per second or 344 meters per second.

With sound, frequency is measured in ?hertz? (abbreviated ?Hz?). Note: ?H? is capitalized in ?Hz?. Hertz is the number of waves per second. We identify sound primarily by its frequency. The bass notes from a bass guitar or a big drum produce sound waves that are spaced far apart so they have long wavelengths and low frequencies. The treble notes from a cymbal or a tiny bell produce sound waves that are spaced closely together so they have short wavelengths and high frequencies.

When you look at a ?frequency response? graph (we call them ?amplitude response? graphs in Eminence Designer) you will usually see a horizontal frequency scale along the bottom as shown in the example below.

The low frequencies usually begin on the left end of the scale (5 Hz) and progress to the high frequencies on the right end (20 K). Notice that some numbers on the frequency scale are followed by a ?K? . ?K? means thousands and it can be combined with ?Hz? to form ?kHz? (pronounced ?kilohertz?). So 1000 Hz equals 1 kHz and 20000 Hz equals 20 kHz. Note: By itself, ?K? is capitalized but a small ?k? is used when it is added to Hz.

Human hearing can detect sounds from approximately 20 Hz to 20000 Hz (20 kHz). However, few people can actually hear all the way to 20 kHz. Most high-fidelity speakers attempt to accurately reproduce sound waves in this audible frequency range. Sound waves whose frequency is less than 20 Hz are called subsonic because they are below our range of hearing. But even though we cannot hear subsonic sounds we can ?feel? some of them because they can cause tactile vibrations. Sound waves whose frequency is greater than 20 kHz are called ultrasonic because they are above our range of hearing and we usually cannot detect them with our ears. One possible exception occurs with ultrasonic sounds that are extremely loud?they can sometimes be perceived as a feeling of pressure in the ear?but this isn?t very helpful because other phenomena can also create feelings of pressure in the ear.

Is there a benefit for a speaker to reproduce subsonic sound waves (less than 20 Hz)? The answer depends on the purpose of the speaker and the environment where it will be used. If the speaker will be used in an apartment building the answer is an emphatic ?no?! Unless you want angry neighbors. The answer is also ?no? if the speaker will be used for live sound reinforcement because you will want to avoid low-frequency feedback with microphones. However, the answer may be ?yes? if the speaker will be a part of an extended-range sound system for a movie theater and you want the audience to ?feel? a dinosaur as it thunders across the screen. In this case a powerful subwoofer that can reproduce subsonic sounds may be desired?assuming that the theater has soundtracks that include subsonic sounds.

Is there any benefit for a speaker to reproduce ultrasonic sound waves (greater than 20 kHz)? Not really, unless you want to impress your dog which hears up to 30 kHz.

The table below shows the frequency ranges of some common acoustical music sources:

Pressure: The Loudness of Sound
The loudness of sound is determined by the pressure that is created by sound waves when those waves push on a surface?in this case our ear drums. This is why engineers and technicians refer to the loudness level as the ?sound pressure level? (SPL) and measure it with a sound pressure level meter. However, our amazing ears respond to sound pressure in a fascinating way?instead of responding to sound pressure in a linear fashion they respond to it in a logarithmic fashion. Let?s explore this in more detail?

The unit used by most scientists and engineers to measure pressure is the pascal (Pa) which equals about 69 pounds per square inch (PSI). If our hearing were linear, a one pascal increase in pressure would be just as noticeable whether the change was from 1 to 2 Pa or from 10 to 11 Pa or from 100 to 101 Pa. But this is not the way our hearing works. As the sound pressure rises it takes a larger and larger increase before our ears notice a change in level?the level must be multiplied. This means that a change from 1 to 2 Pa is perceived similarly as a change from 10 to 20 Pa. This allows us to hear a phenomenally wide range of sound levels from a pressure of 0.00002 Pa (the quietest sound level we can hear) to a pressure of 100 Pa (a sound level so loud that it causes most people to feel pain). By the way, 100 Pa is 5000000 (five million) times more pressure than 0.00002 Pa!

Fortunately, sound levels are rarely described in pascals or we would have to be experts in the use of decimals. Instead of pascals, sound levels are measured in a unit called the ?decibel? (dB). Note: The ?B? is capitalized in ?dB?. As mentioned above the threshold of our hearing begins with sound levels that have a small pressure of only 0.00002 Pa. This equals 20 dB. And a high pressure of 100 Pa causes most people to feel pain. This equals 134 dB. The table below lists some typical sound levels:

What is a decibel? A decibel is the logarithm of a ratio. It can be any kind of a ratio but in audio it is usually a pressure ratio, a voltage ratio or a power ratio. A 2:1 pressure or voltage ratio equals a 6 dB change in level and a 2:1 power ratio equals a 3 dB change in level.

Let?s put the decibel in perspective. For most people, a 10 dB change in sound level will sound twice as loud as the level before the change. A 3 dB change in sound level is very small but most everyone can hear it. A 2 dB change in sound level is very, very small and some people will have trouble hearing it. A 1 dB change in sound level is super small and very few people (unless their hearing is trained or special test signals are used) will be able to hear it.

Another way to view the decibel is with its relationship to amplifier power and driver cone excursion. To increase the sound pressure level just 3 dB, you have to double the amplifier power and increase the cone excursion by 50%. Suppose that you have a speaker with a sensitivity of 90 dB and a cone excursion of 1 mm (0.04 inch) when driven with 1 watt from an amplifier. How loud will the speaker be and what will its cone excursion be if we drive it with 2 watts? Answer: 93 dB and 1.5 mm. The table below further illustrates this progression:

The important point here is that small changes in dB require large changes in power and excursion. This should make the advantages of a high-efficiency speaker obvious?because not many speakers can handle 1000 watts of power and produce 57 mm (2¼ in) of cone excursion.

How loud is too loud?
The answer to this question depends on the type of sound and the duration. Most of us realize that really loud sounds can cause permanent hearing damage. This is especially true of very sudden sounds, like gun fire, because the natural protective mechanisms of our ears don?t have time to respond. But the threshold of pain is quite high at 134 dB. Will hearing damage occur at lower levels? Yes. If you listen to an average sound level of only 85 dB for 8 hours per day, you will eventually suffer permanent hearing damage.

Sound Pressure Levels versus Acoustic Power Levels
Sound pressure level measurements are always referenced to a distance and direction from the sound source. This is because the sound pressure level decreases as you move farther away from the source. And unless a sound source is perfectly omnidirectional (produces a uniform sound level in all directions), it will be louder or quieter at different directions. Most speakers are louder on axis?that is, they are louder in the direction they are pointed. This is why speaker sensitivity ratings are usually specified at 1 watt and 1 meter. This means that the speaker will produce the specified sound pressure level at a distance of 1 meter when it is driven with 1 watt of power. If no direction is specified, it is assumed that the direction is straight ahead or ?on axis?.

Unfortunately, this method of specifying loudness has its share of shortcomings. This is because the off-axis sound can have a dramatic effect on the overall quality of the sound in many acoustical environments. For example, sound emanating from the sides, top, bottom and back of the speaker may reflect off side walls, ceiling, floor and the rear wall to alter the character and apparent loudness of the speaker. Depending on the delays between the direct on-axis sound and the various reflected sound waves, the overall sound may seem to stay the same, be improved or made worse. Is there another way to measure loudness? You bet!

Another way to measure loudness is to measure the total energy from a sound source in all directions. This is the ?acoustic power level? measurement and its value does not change when the distance or direction from the sound source is changed. Its only reference is the amount of power driving the source, usually 1 watt. Like sound pressure, acoustic power can use the decibel as its unit of measurement. The acoustic power level offers two advantages: 1) It provides a good overall picture of the total energy radiating from a speaker and therefore provides a better idea of its loudness in a reflective or reverberant acoustical environment, and 2) It provides a convenient way to compare one speaker to another. Summary
Sound is an exciting phenomenon to study and there is much more we could say about it. But this topic is designed to be an introduction only. A few highlights are listed next: Sound is a wave and bass notes have long wavelengths and treble notes have short wavelengths. We recognize different sounds primarily by the frequency of their waves. Frequency is measured in hertz (Hz) and one Hz equals one wave per second. Loudness is determined by the pressure level created by sound waves and is measured in units called decibels (dB). Our threshold of hearing is a mere 20 dB and our threshold of pain is an enormous 134 dB. A small 3 dB change in sound level requires that the amplifier power double and that the cone excursion of the driver increase 50%.
