This is a rebuilt and expanded version of my previous video on TV display technology.
The original release had issues with audio and pacing, and many of you asked for clearer explanations and additional display types. This version is cleaner, more structured, and closer to what I originally intended, a full first-principles breakdown of how modern TV displays work, from backlit systems to self-emissive panels.
Whether you're just curious how TV displays work or you're actually trying to buy one, this should help you understand what you're looking at without all the marketing nonsense. Every display technology makes trade-offs, and knowing what those are makes it easier to figure out what actually matters for how you watch.
Some sections were still tightened for runtime, but this covers the core technologies, the trade-offs behind them, and why different designs behave the way they do.
Thanks to everyone who shared feedback, it directly shaped this rebuild.
