MacBooklarda Rosetta 2.0 adı verilen bir emülator var ve bu programları x86'ymış gibi çalıştırılmasını sağlıyor. Emülatör olduğu için doğal olarak performansı düşmekte ayrıca oyunlar windows üstünden olduğu için sanal makine de kurulması gerekmekte. Bu kadar şeyi göz önüne alırsak yine de iyi performans sunmakta fakat bence oyun oynamak için bu kadar hassas ve soğutma sistemi kısıtlanmış makine almaya gerek yok. Eğer ki Intel x86 Alder Lake söylendiği gibi verimli ve efektif çalışırsa ARM'nin sunduğu ekosisteme gerek yok zira uygulamalar geliştirilirken ARM için ve x86 için ayrı ayrı geliştirilmeleri gerekiyor. Halihazırda ARM'ın kendi dağılımı düşük oranda olduğu için de bazı uygulamalarda ARM için rush olduğunu sanmıyorum, özellikle de rosetta 2.0 çıkmışken.
Bence çok niş durumlar (Özellikle Xcode için) dışında, ARM mimarisine geçmenin çok büyük bir anlamı yok. En azından bir kaç yıla daha ihtiyacı var. Sistemlerin hepsi halihazırda daha x86 mimarisi ile geliştiriyorlar, endüstri standartı diyebileceğimiz docker'ın bile macOS sürümü daha preview halinde.
Ayrıca bunca şeyi göze aldıktan sonra bile, maclerin kapalı yapısı bile beni ekosistemlerinden uzak tutuyor. Ne aldıysan o. İçini açıp temizleme imkanın dahi yok.
Umarım Alder Lake efektif çıkar da, ben de şu 90 dereceye kadar ısınan cihazlardan kurtulurum.
