Nigerian striker Yakubu Ayegbeni is on the brink of a move from Middlesbrough to Everton after the clubs agreed an £11 million transfer fee for a player who is set to be replaced by Heerenveen's prolific Brazilian international, Afonso Alves.
Meali: Middlesbrough 11 milyon sterline Yakubu'yu satıcak. O parayla da Alves'i alıcakmış.
Yakubu Ayegbeni will have a medical and discuss personal terms with Everton this weekend after Middlesbrough accepted an £11 million bid for their unsettled Nigeria striker yesterday. The 24-year-old has been withdrawn from Gareth Southgate’s squad for today’s visit to Fulham and is likely to complete a move to Goodison Park.
No deal has been formalised, however. West Ham United and Portsmouth are also interested in a player who has scored 25 league goals in 67 games for Middlesbrough.
The loss of Yakubu will be viewed as a blow by supporters, but Southgate wants Afonso Alves, 26, to replace him. The Brazilian has scored 34 goals in 31 appearances for Heerenveen.
Son cümlenin anlamı: Yakubu'nun boşluğu taraftarlar tarafından hoş karşılanmasa da, Southgate 26 yaşındaki Afonso Alves'i onun yerine istiyor. Brezilyalı forvet Heerenveen'de 31 maçta 34 gol atmıştı.
