    Silk Road Online Q&A

    Question 1. Is this a server emulator where you can be a mod or is this project simply going to be an offlline version of Silkroad online?
    Answer 1. The server emulator will allow members to create thier own servers for other players to connect to, Meaning you can host on LAN (Where only people on your network can connect) or WAN (where everyone over the internet can connect). You will be apply to make any one a GameMaster if you wish todo so.

    Question 2. Will it be really that easy to change stuff like creating gold or items?
    Answer 2. Yes, with GameMaster commands when entered you will have the possiblity to give anything to anyone, if you wish to change the stats on an item that will be done through the Database. As for giving items you will enter a command such as @GiveGold (Player Name and gold amount) or @Make (Item name).

    Question 3. Will the emulator be free or do i need to pay?
    Answer 3. The Silk Road Online emulator will be completely free of charge!

    Question 4. When will the emulator be released?
    Answer 4. When the developer team thinks it is ready to be released. Updates will be posted!

    Question 5. Can i test?
    Answer 5. Testing periods will be made available first to subscribers and then later to the public, you will be informed if we have open tests.

    Question 6. If any, how much of the emu will be open source? Will we be able to download Source for the client ect?
    Answer 6. We do not have any plans for releasing any source code so we as it stands nothing will be open source, also we do not have the source for the client we are using the offical client and only emulating the server.

    Question 7. Will there be GameMaster commands?
    Answer 7. Yes there will be some are already floating around the forum.

    Question 8. How close are you to finishing?
    Answer 8. Status posts will be made every week to inform you we will not give %, ETAs etc as it leads to false hopes and disappointment if we cannot meet the deadlines.

    Question 9. Will it be easy to edit monsters/items etc?
    Answer 9. Yes, we will post guides and make everything user friendly

    Question 10. What specifications are needed to host a server?
    Answer 10. This is uncertain as of now i use a 2GB 3.0GHz P4 to test thats running both client & server and have no problems what so ever so i assume a lower spec can be used. (Testing periods will determine.)

    Question 11. Can i buy item mall stuff for ingame gold?
    Answer 11. We will make this possible but it will be completely down to the server owner, if he/she wanted then these items could drop from monsters or he could charge for them like Joymax (If you do charge for your server i will put money on it that you will be contacted by Joymax asap!) But yes you can if the server owner sets it this way!

  • Güya bi emulatör yapıyorlarmış ve bununla isteyen kendine istediği kadar para, item ve diğer şeyleri yapabilecekmiş. Ben pek inanmadım ama yapsınlar bakalım :) Ayrıca bu gerçekse oyunun tam anlamıyla b.ku çıkar :=)
