EIZO FDF2405W offers 240 Hz refresh rate

EIZO has announced a new monitor. The 23.5-inch creation is called FDF2405W and features an LED-backlit VA-panel with a 1920x1080 pixel Full HD resolution. The manufacturer claims bidirectional viewing angles of 176 degrees, a 5000:1 contrast and 5 ms response time.

What makes the monitor stand out though is its exceptionally high refresh rate. The screen is capable of converting 120 Hz signals to 240 Hz, something which Eizo calls 'blur reduction'. This would make it exceptionally suited for displaying satellite images. With the feature enabled, the screen has a maximum brightness of 350 cd/m². Without it, a maximum brightness of 450 cd/m² has been specified.

The screen connects through DisplayPort (10-bits) or DVI-D (8-bits) for the video and USB for monitor control. A 2-port USB 2.0-hub is also available. The screen has a 3-pin mini-DIN connector to generate a synchronization signal of 120 Hz to display 3D images using an active shutter system. The stand is height-adjustable, and the screen can be both rotated and tilted. Lastly, it can also be used in portrait mode.

Eizo has yet to detail pricing and availability fori ts new FDF2405W monitor.
