Espoo, Finland - Mobile entertainment just got more fun with the Nokia N81 and Nokia N81 8GB multimedia computers now available globally. Designed for the best in music and gaming, these devices come with dedicated music and game keys and are loaded with memory so you can store more and play more.
The 3D Multimedia Menu introduced in these devices is the first step to bringing a new user interface to the Nokia Nseries range. The new menu makes it easy to discover and enjoy your digital content and the Internet, and share your experiences with others.
"Accessing your portable music and games collection is not enough anymore," said Jonas Geust, vice president, Multimedia, Nokia. "Today people want to be more in control of how and where they consume their digital entertainment. They want to discover new favorites and share them without being confined to one location - and it's devices like the Nokia N81 that facilitate this."
The Nokia N81 and Nokia N81 8GB also offer the discovery of millions of tracks through the Nokia Music Store*. And, with their integrated Nokia Music Players, creating playlists and managing music collections on the move is a breeze. For enhanced sound quality, compatible high-quality headphones or speakers can be used with the standard 3.5mm headphone connector.
A preview of the N-Gage games service is also available in the devices, including playable demos of EA SPORTS(TM) FIFA 07, Asphalt 3: Street Rules and Space Impact Light. After the launch of N-Gage later this year, the full N-Gage application will be available for download. Players can then try all N-Gage games for free and buy only the ones they want.
The estimated retail price of the Nokia N81 is 360 EUR before subsidies or taxes. The Nokia N81 8GB is expected to retail for 430 EUR before subsidies or taxes.
The N-Gage service will be available globally later in 2007. At that time, the free N-Gage application can be downloaded from http://www.n-gage.com (PC or mobile) and installed.

Freescale MXC-300-xx işlemcisinin TI OMAP 2420 işlemcisinden, çalışma frekansı daha yüksek olduğu halde daha düşük performans vereceğine dair (TI OMAP 2420 işlemcisindeki 2D/3D grafik hızlandırıcının Freescale MXC-300-xx işlemcisinde olmaması yüzünden) tahminlerim; http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-6290-en.shtml adresindeki JBenchmark ile 6290 ve N93'ün karşılaştırılmasında alınan sonuçlar ile doğru çıktı.
Sonuçta Nokia daha alt modellerde üretim maliyetlerini kısmaya zorunludur ve bu nedenle bu tip modellerde Freescale, daha üst modellerde ise satın alınabilirliklerini sağlanmak amacı ile Texas Instruments OMAP işlemcileri kullanmak durumundadır.

Merhaba arkadaslar, Nokia bazi web sitesi sahiplerine gecen hafta N81-8GB yi denemeleri icin yollamisti. Hatta nette N81-8GB kutu acma videolari var. N81 de ayni Nokia nin son zamanlarinda cikardigi tum telefonlar gibi cok kotu kalitesiz uretilmis olabilir (lacka kizakli N95, dis kaplamasi yolunan N76 vs vs. gibi).
I’m reviewing a retail unit right now, have been for a few days, I’m not going to post my horribly unedited rough and incomplete draft because frankly I’m not sure how well my scanner reads crayon. That being said I’m not happy. I genuinely don’t like the device. From light bleeding, to creaking to WiFi problems, naviwheel issues and a cluster of buttons so evil that you would think a midget version of Satan designed this thing, I’m going to say stay away. Far far away.
Asagi yukari bir cevirisi (cevirme isinden hic anlamam cok dogru ceviririm diye bir iddaam da yok): Su anda bir satis versiyonu N81 review i yapiyorum, bir kac gun oldu, kotu ve eksik bir review i yollamaycagim cunku durust olmak gerekirse tarayicimin renkli bir kalemi iyi okuyacagindan emin degilim (sanirim adam notlarini kagit uzerine renki kalemle almis ???). Gercekten cihazdan hoslanmadim. Isik kaciriyor, wifi problemleri, naviwheel sorunlari ve bir gurup dugmeler oyle kotu ki Seytan ici bir dizaynin bir versiyonu gibi. Uzak duracagim. Cok cok uzak.
NOT: Umarim adamin kendi abartisidir yoksa N81 gibi bir telefonun kotu cikmasi uzucu.
Yukarıda yaptığım alıntıya göre Freescale işlemcisi kullanıldığı için N81 düşük maliyte sahip ucuz bir telefon (TI OMAP kullanan N93 ve N95'e kıyasla) olarak konumlandırılması gerekir.
Hardware-wise the 6290 bases off a platform by Freescale, being a first of kind in the family of “cheap” 3G smartphones.
