    Biyografi

    Orijinal sound’ları ve imza attıkları birbirinden başarılı çalışmalarla Linkin Park, Nu-Rock adı verilen yeni müzik türünün ilk temsilcilerinden. Müziklerinde Rock, Rap ve Electronica gibi bir çok farklı sound’u başarıyla bir araya getiren Linkin Park’ın temelleri, 1996 yılında gitarist Brad Delson ve Mike Shinoda tarafından atılır. Kariyerlerine Xero adında bir grup kurarak başlayan ikili, zamanla vokalist Mark Wakefield, DJ Joseph Hahn, davulcu Rob Bourdon ve basçı Phoenix Farrell’ın da katılmasıyla kadrosunu güçlendirir. 4 şarkıdan oluşan bir demo çalışması ve Mark Wakefield’ın gruptan ayrılışın hemen ardından topluluk, isimlerini -ileride ilk albümlerine de ilham verecek olan- Hybrid Theory olarak değiştirir. Başlarda Los Angeles’ta çeşitli klüplerde boy gösteren topluluk, Phoenix Farrell’ın başka bir toplulukla turneye çıkmak üzere grubu terk etmesinin ardından, vokalist Chester Bennington’ı kadrolarına dahil eder. Bennington’un orijinal vokalleriyle güçlenen topluluk, 1999 yılında 6 şarkılık bir EP çalışmasına imza atar ve telif haklarından doğan çeşitli problemler nedeniyle, kendilerine yeni isim olarak Linkin Park’ı seçer. Phoenix’in sürpriz dönüşüyle birlikte Linkin Park, yepyeni bir demo çalışmasının ardından, kariyerlerinin belki de en önemli adımını atarak Warner müzik şirketiyle anlaşır. Ekim 2000’de Hybrid Theory adlı ilk albüm çalışmaları piyasaya sürülen Linkin Park, One Step Closer, Crawling, ve In The End gibi hit çalışmalarıyla adını kısa sürede duyurmayı başarır. Temmuz 2002’de ortaya çıkan Reanimation adlı albüm, hala yankıları süren Hybrid Theory’nin remix versiyonlarını içermektedir. 2003 yılının Mart ayında çıkardıkları Meteora adlı albümleri ve burada yer alan Somewhere I Belong, Numb ve Faint gibi hit’leriyle Linkin Park, dünya çapında hayran kitlesini genişletmeyi başarır. Bugüne kadar Video Müzik Ödülleri de dahil olmak üzere bir çok ödül kazanan Linkin Park, en son geçtiğimiz yılın sonlarında, rap sanatçısı Jay-Z ile birlikte, Collision Course adlı orijinal bir albüm çalışmasına imza atmıştı.
